It was recently reported that there were plans for a NXT star to make his debut on last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown during the main event segment, but those plans were nixed.
Later it was revealed that Damian Priest was the talent who was originally written into the show. Even though Priest wasn’t called up last week it sounds like fans can still expect to see him on the main roster soon.
PWInsider reports that Damian Priest’s match against Karrion Kross at this week’s NXT New Year’s Evil event was his last planned appearance for the brand.
Rhea Rhipley is another talent who is reportedly set to be called up.
The report notes that plans can always change based on the whims of Vince McMahon, but Priest’s loss to Karrion Kross, and Rhea’s loss to Raquel González were meant to mark the end of their NXT careers.
Stay tuned for more updates on their debuts as they become available.
