A lot of big moves have been made in the world of wrestling over the last few weeks, and more big moves could be made soon as there are a number of free agents either on the market, or hitting the market soon.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the belief on the AEW side is that Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone will both be starting with the company soon. Mercedes Mone was doing some acting work, but the word is that her debut will be played up big with an announcement that could be coming soon.
Mercedes Mone working with AEW has been expected for months even before they showed her on screen during All In at Wembley Stadium. It was noted that she did negotiate with WWE after that, but they were far apart on money. One way or another it’s being said that nothing is a lock until a deal is signed.
The last word on Okada is that he hasn’t made up his mind, but people in AEW are hopeful and confident he’ll be coming in. If he does sign his likely arrival would be at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view in Greensboro. If Okada signs with WWE then it’s expected the company would hold off until WrestleMania.
