The Royal Rumble is only a few weeks away, which means that soon we will be on the Road to WrestleMania. This week’s episode of SmackDown Live was the final episode of 2017, and it featured two big announcements regarding the Royal Rumble when Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura both entered the big match.
Ruby Riott also announced that she will be entering the first ever women’s Royal Rumble.
The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will air Sunday, January 28 on the WWE Network.
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live also featured a number one contenders match for the Tag Team Titles. The match saw Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable take on Rusev and Aiden English and The New Day while The Usos sat at ringside and joined the commentary team.
In the end it was Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin who won the triple threat match to earn a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
It was announced that Gable and Benjamin will get their title shot when they face off against The Usos next week on SmackDown.
