Over the last few years a number of former WWE stars have made their way to AEW including Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews. Malakai and Buddy Matthews are currently part of the House of Black stable and on Saturday night House of Black faced off against FTR & Daniel Garcia in an escape the cage elimination match.
Dave Meltzer recently discussed the match on Wrestling Observer Radio and he claimed that two members of House of Black, presumably Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews, will be heading to WWE bound as soon as they are able to jump ship.
“Malakai Black never does jobs, and when this one’s going on I’m like watching this, one of the things I was thinking while watching this was ‘These freakin’ House of Black guys never do jobs,’ and here is the other thing, it’s like ‘What if they win this match?’ and I was just there like, ‘You know they’re like, two of those three guys are going to WWE.'”
“I mean they are going, as soon as they can go they are gone, even though they were treated like s*** in WWE, and they never do jobs here, and you never do jobs here, and my thought is kinda like, ‘Why do you keep putting them over ’cause we know they are leaving, but there you go.”
At this point it’s not clear when Black and Matthews will become free agents, but it will interesting to see if they do indeed return to WWE when the time comes.
Stay tuned for updates.
