It’s no big secret that the pandemic era wasn’t kind to WWE when it comes to ratings, but the company will be hitting the road soon, and fans will be returning to WWE events.
WWE Monday Night Raw ratings hit an all time low this week, and it looks like WWE’s TV partners will be looking to get more involved in an attempt to boost ratings for WWE programming.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast is reporting that WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon is set to meet with one of WWE’s TV partners later this month, and the purpose of the meeting is for the network to pitch ideas. It’s not clear if Stephanie McMahon will be meeting with USA Network or FOX.
Zarian also noted that he doesn’t know if this is a regular thing, or if this practice is becoming more common. It’s worth noting that in the past the USA Network reportedly pitched the idea for WWE to introduce the 24/7 Championship.
Fans will be returning to WWE programming next week for the final SmackDown before Money in the Bank, so it will be interesting to see if any changes are made after fans return and the company heads into SummerSlam in August. Stay tuned for updates.
