Sunday night Natalya made history when she defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Not only did Natalya end up walking out with her belt, but she also broke Trish Status’ record for most WWE pay-per-view matches of any woman in the history of the company.

There’s little doubt that Natalya feels proud of her accomplishment, and she should. She’s been bringing the fight to the WWE women’s division for many years now, and it’s likely that she will hold this record for quite some time.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus commented on Natalya’s huge accomplishment, and she praised the SmackDown Women’s Champion while saying that she wishes she had the opportunity to work with her.
“I’m not surprised, Nattie is hands down the hardest working WWE Superstar male or female! In the ring she is as solid as it gets, as a performer she always delivers, and she is a excellent representative of not only the company but of woman in wrestling. She truly exemplifies what you can accomplish through hard work and what can happen when you follow your passion.” Trish says, “And it is for all of those reasons and more that I have always said following my retirement, that I wish I had worked with Nattie.”
Perhaps it’s time for Trish Stratus to come out of retirement to take on Natalya.
During an interview last year, Stratus said she will never close the door on a potential return, and she emphasized that she would like to face Natalya.
“I will never close the door if there is something that will challenge me. It would have to be a challenge to me, it would have to elevate someone else on the show and it would need to be something exciting for the fans. What do they want to see? They always ask who I would go back to work for and one person is Nattie. She isn’t one of the top current girls, but I never got a chance to work with her and it would be kind of dream to be able to. If I could return and have some challenging and good matches, I would have no doubt in coming back. Just as long as I could keep up in the ring, I think I would be OK.”
