It’s an exciting time to be a wrestling fan as moves are being made and it was recently confirmed that Kazuchika Okada is set to part ways with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Sports Illustrated reports that Kazuchika Okada’s departure was not unexpected and it did not catch anyone by surprise. AEW seems to be the favorite to land Okada as he already has pre-existing relationships with Tony Khan, Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
It’s being said that there’s significant interest from WWE specifically from Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Multiple sources close to NJPW revealed that Okada has always wanted to perform at WrestleMania.
Triple H is well aware that Kazuchika Okada wants to perform at WrestleMania and it was speculated that wrestlers like AJ Styles and Finn Balor who Okada is already familiar with could be perfect opponents for his debut.
If WWE does indeed land Kazuchika Okada then it opens the door for Triple H and Nick Khan to build a relationship with NJPW. One thing that AEW has over WWE is that Tony Khan wouldn’t ask Okada to relocate where if he signed with WWE he would have to move to Florida.
One way or another Kazuchika Okada is expected to make a decision soon. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
