Business has been picking up in the United States Title scene and on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley faced off to determine the number one contender for the belt.
At one point Lashley had Rollins in the Hurt Lock and the referee tweaked his ankle as he went to the outside and tried to get out of the way. It looked like Lashley had it won when he hit Seth Rollins with the spear, but the referee was slow to get back in the ring so Rollins ended up kicking out. Lashley went for another spear and Rollins reversed it into the Pedigree for the win.
After the match Bobby Lashley argued with the referee, and then he knocked out another referee when he turned around an elbowed him. Lashley then shoved Adam Pearce which led to Pearce firing Lashley only to reinstate him later.
Seth Rollins recently addressed the heated feud during an appearance on The Bump, and he questioned whether or not Triple H may get involved if things escalate any further.
“So I’ll be very curious to see, honestly, how they hash these things out and what comes of it. You can’t crack an official in the head, you can’t pie-face Adam Pearce. You can’t do those things. You gotta be a professional. I mean, professional, I am the king of professionalism. I go by the book all the time, so I understand these things. I would never do anything to put myself in a situation like that.”
“I’m very curious to see how the two of them kind of handle this business, or if maybe somebody else needs to step in. I don’t know, if ‘Papa H’ needs to come down and lay the hammer down, the sledgehammer, so to speak, who knows? We’ll see.”
