Between Raw and SmackDown Live, the WWE main roster is massive, and unfortunately there just aren’t enough spots at the top for everyone. Sometimes talents get lost in the shuffle, and go months, or longer, without getting a real feud on WWE programming.
It’s always exciting when a fresh face gets called up from NXT, but over the last few months NXT fans have been treated to a few surprise appearances from main roster stars at live events.
Triple H opened up about the future of NXT during a recent conference call and he indicated that we could be seeing some main roster stars make the jump to NXT.
“I think you can be at a place where you can see main level talent stay in NXT,” Triple H said via Wrestling Inc. “We are also at the point where you can see some talent that have been on Raw and SmackDown for periods of time, who have had some success or haven’t for whatever reason, who aren’t being utilized, go back to NXT. A talent who doesn’t get a lot of exposure on SmackDown and moves to Raw, it could be a game-changer for them, and all of a sudden they can do something different. I do think it (NXT) is a third brand.”
