WWE is always looking to stay ahead of the pack in regards to what everyone else is doing. It’s funny how WWE’s interest in the United Kingdom market seemed to directly coincide with ITV’s World Of Sport program. This is why a lot of people are under the opinion that WWE signed so many of the UK’s top talent but still let them continue working indie dates with approved companies as long as they’re not featured on any broadcasts.
Triple H recently spoke about WWE’s United Kingdom roster with Mirror Sport where he acknowledged that while it is taking longer than first thought to get everything off the ground for the WWE United Kingdom division, there are some announcements on the way.
“While we are there at this UK event at the Royal Albert Hall, we will be making some announcements about the future of the UK Championship brand there in the UK and moving forward.”
WWE’s COO made it very clear that the WWE United Kingdom division still means a lot to him. It looks like the WWE UK roster could be getting their own spotlight but there are still a few more things that need to be worked out first.
“That brand still remains very near and dear to me and it’s something I want to move on. It’s taking a little bit longer than I anticipated in getting things done and getting them done in the way I want them to get done … but it’s happening. It will be meaningful to everybody there and I look forward to showcasing the UK talent to the world.”
