The Rock hasn’t wrestled in quite some time, but when he was an active competitor fans all around the world would go crazy for The People’s Elbow.
The move was originally designed to be a joke, as Triple H recently explained to TMZ that back in the day guys like The Rock, Steve Austin and Mick Foley would try to get The Undertaker to break character during matches.
According to Triple H, The Rock first tried the move out in a 6 man tag team match in hopes of making The Undertaker crack.
“I believe the first time Rock did The People’s Elbow was in a match where we were tryna make ‘Taker crack. It absolutely started [as a joke] and then it was getting huge reaction and everybody went with it.”
Triple H went on to say that he’s got “a ton” of great Taker stories which will be revealed during part 3 “The Undertaker: The Last Ride” which premieres Sunday on the WWE Network.
