A few weeks ago the Royal Rumble pay-per-view aired live on the WWE Network, and it was Charlotte Flair who won the women’s Royal Rumble match.
Charlotte earned the right to challenge for a title at WrestleMania 36 in April, and it was confirmed on Sunday that she will challenge Rhea Rhipley for the NXT Women’s Championship at the event.
Triple H participated in a media call after the show and he revealed that it was Vince McMahon who pitched the idea for the match.
“Actually, USA had no involvement in it, really at all. I believe that this was, to be honest, it was shocking to me when it was first mentioned to me. I believe that this was really just a decision from Vince’s part on understanding where the other stories are going for the women.”
