The Royal Rumble is now right around the corner and it seems that this is usually an event where a number of NXT superstars are invited to be part of proceedings. This year is expected to be no different, with rumours suggesting that Peyton Royce and Billie Kay will be part of the historic Women’s Royal Rumble match on Sunday night.
Ahead of the event on a recent conference call to promote NXT Takeover: Philadelphia, Triple H was asked how close The Iconic Duo are to a call-up since they haven’t been made part of Takeover this weekend.
According to a report by Sportskeeda, The Game responded that he didn’t think they were far away from a call-up at all and there comes a certain point in time that you “get all of it” but then you need some “reps” to prepare and to be ready for the opportunity.
He also added “When the time is right, they will smash their opportunity. For years to come, they’ll be able to wow fans in Australia when they go home.”
Is Triple H trying to fool fans into thinking Royce and Kay won’t be part of the Royal Rumble or is their call-up being delayed until after WrestleMania? Either way, it seems that the main roster is set to become Iconic in the coming months.
