This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was the special season premiere episode for the blue brand, and it featured a rare on screen appearance from Triple H.
The Game made his way down to the ring and he received a big “Triple H” chant as he entered. Triple H hyped up the road to Crown Jewel and Survivor Series while saying that it all starts tonight.
Adam Pearce was standing in the ring and Triple H called him one of the unsung heroes of WWE. He said that Pearce has done an incredible job doing a thankless job for three years. Triple H thanked Adam Pearce then said that no one person should do this job alone. The Game said Adam Pearce is getting a promotion and told him he’s the new General Manager of Monday Night Raw.
Triple H was about to introduce the new General Manager of SmackDown, but he was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio. The crowd was booing Dominik as he tried to complain about The Judgment Day having a tag team title match. Triple H joked that he thought WWE was trying to pump the boos in for Dominik, but now that he’s out here he understands how loud they are.
Hunter said Dominik is complaining to the wrong people. He introduced the new General Manager of SmackDown, Nick Aldis. Once Aldis got on the mic he thanked WWE for the opportunity. He told Adam Pearce that he looks forward to healthy competition between the two brands, then told Dom he’s a big fan of his dad.
Nick Aldis said Cody Rhodes was instrumental in bringing a SmackDown star to Raw, so he wants to introduce SmackDown’s newest star right now. Dominik tried to interrupt. The crowd drowned him out which led to Triple H giving Dominik his mic as he joked that Dom’s wasn’t working.
Kevin Owens then made his way out to a huge reaction from the crowd. KO stunned Dominik Mysterio thens hook hands with Nick Aldis, Triple H and Adam Pearce to end the segment.
