The stars of WWE are in Puerto Rico ahead of WWE Backlash, and today Triple H spoke at the WWE Backlash press conference. The Chief Content Officer recently introduced the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship and today he revealed how the new champion will be crowned. Even though it’s been established that the title will be exclusive to Raw competitors from both brands will have a shot to win the title.
Triple H announced that on Monday Night Raw there will be two triple threat matches and the winners of each match will face off later in the night. The same thing will also happen on Friday Night SmackDown with the winners of two triple threat matches facing off later during the episode.
According to Triple H the respective winners from Raw and SmackDown will then go on to face off at Night of Champions to decide who will be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The Game did not reveal who will be competing in the triple threat matches.
WWE Night of Champions will air live from Saudi Arabia on May 27th. Stay tuned for more updates on the title picture as they become available.
