Vince McMahon is a very busy man but it looks like he’s always looking to dip his toe in as many waters as he possibly can. There has been some serious rumor and innuendo about a return of the XFL of another football venture after Vince McMahon’s other company trademarked a bunch of terms including United Football League which could be the new name they’re going with.
Triple H recently spoke to ABC News where he discussed Vince McMahon’s latest possible football endeavors. In the end, he said that no matter what McMahon does nothing will keep him from running WWE just like always unless they are prepared to fight The Chairman Of The Board about it.
“I don’t think there’s any sense of change. If anybody thinks they’re going to push him out or take this thing, there’s going to be a hell of a fight.”
WWE has an interesting decision in the future which could very well see Raw being cut back down to two hours once again. If WWE finds another network to host Raw and SmackDown once their current television contract expires with NBC Universal they could search for another home for their programming.
Triple H opened up a little bit about the possibility of WWE finding another television home and by the ambiguity of his statement, it could sound like WWE might be open to more than just a television network.
“I can tell you that WWE is uniquely positioned so whatever way it goes, whatever way our fans are telling us to go, we’re there.”
With the WWE Mixed Match Challenge being a possible sign WWE is looking into streaming services for their programming only time will tell where fans could be tuning in or logging in to see their favorite WWE Superstars do battle in the ring. WWE Mixed Match Challenge’s first episode featuring Sasha Banks and Finn Balor vs Natalya and Shinsuke Nakamura is at around 1.8 million views so far which isn’t shabby at all.
