It’s no big secret that Triple H’s in-ring career has been winding down for a few years now as he’s been focusing more on his backstage duties. The Game’s last big match took place at WrestleMania 35 where he faced off against Batista, and it seems that his in-ring career may now be over completely.
Back in September WWE announced that Triple H had to undergo surgery due to a cardiac event, and that he was expected to make a full recovery. Now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Triple H has yet to return to his behind the scenes role, and that an in-ring return is unlikely.
”I wouldn’t expect HHH to ever wrestle again, although it is possible he may do one retirement match if he feels the need to leave on his own terms and doctors will clear him, but that’s not likely to be for a long time and he hasn’t even returned to behind-the-scenes work yet.”
Triple H previously teased possible plans for his retirement during an interview a few months ago, and you can get more on that here. Stay tuned for updates.
