Back in April it was announced that Samoa Joe had been released from WWE, but it looks like he’s already back with the company. PWInsider is reporting that Joe is back with WWE, and that Triple H “snatched him back” as soon as possible.
It’s also being reported that the second a decision was made to “let Joe back on the board” Triple H was not happy. Triple H was the one who initially brought Samoa Joe to WWE in 2015, and he wanted him back in NXT instead of Joe parting ways with WWE and going elsewhere.
Samoa Joe was recently spotted at the WWE Performance Center, but he was not taking bumps, and he was not backstage at the NXT TakeOver event on Sunday.
The belief is that Samoa Joe could wrestle at some point, but the focus will be on him working a non-wrestling role. Joe last wrestled in February of 2020 before he was pulled from the ring due to concussion issues.
With William Regal teasing that it’s time for a change in NXT at TakeOver on Sunday there’s been speculation that Samoa Joe will be brought in to be the authority figure in NXT. Stay tuned for updates.
