Under the Vince McMahon regime WWE embraced the idea of themed pay-per-views which sometimes led to gimmick matches that seemed unnecessary. The Hell in a Cell event has often been criticized for using the Hell in a Cell stipulation when it’s not needed, but it looks like Triple H will be doing away with the show altogether.

WrestleVotes recently spoke to GiveMeSport and confirmed that Triple H not be running the Hell in a Cell event moving forward. However, fans can still expect to see Hell in a Cell matches on WWE programming.

“The show itself, I think is completely dead. That match, from what I understand means a lot to Hunter, just think of the classics that he’s had in there. Roman Reigns & Jey so they’ve been feuding for six weeks, they got to be there now because the calendar says so… That’s not going to happen anymore”

The last Hell in a Cell event took place in June and it was headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins. The match earned a lot of praise as Rhodes battled through an injury before taking time off to undergo surgery. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
