The Money in the Bank ladder match officially debuted at WrestleMania 21 and it’s been a mainstay on WWE programming ever since. Money in the Bank has since been given its own premium live event, but it sounds like the Money in the Bank ladder matches could be returning to the Grandest Stage of Them All.
WrestleVotes recently spoke to GiveMeSport about the future of Money in the Bank and it was noted that an idea is being discussed that would put the women’s Money in the Bank match on one night of WrestleMania with the men’s match taking place on the other night. However, it was also noted that Money in the Bank may still move forward as a premium live event as WWE continues to expand to stadium shows.
“Putting Money in the Bank on WrestleMania, one night women’s and one night men’s is something I’ve heard. I know since Hunter has taken over, the idea of one night women and one night men is alive.”
“I don’t think they’re going to do that. Let’s say Money in the Bank was scheduled for Allegiant Stadium, they’re hoping to get 50,000 people. If you can do that on the back of Money in the Bank, I don’t think you put that show in the garbage and put the matches WrestleMania.”
One way or another it seems that more changes are coming to WWE programming as it was recently reported that Triple H has removed the Hell in a Cell premium live event from WWE’s annual schedule.
