The past few years have been pretty crazy in the professional wrestling industry, as fans have seen a lot of things that they thought they would never see.
Overall WWE seems to be much more lenient when it comes to acknowledging other promotions and wrestlers who aren’t part of the WWE roster. Recently WWE has been mentioning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks on WWE.com and on social media, and fans are wondering if we could see Omega and The Bucks work with World Wrestling Entertainment.
For now Kenny Omega is under contract with NJPW, but when Sun Sport recently asked Triple H if we could ever see a cross-promotional event between WWE and NJPW, he said he’s open to the idea.
“We have an alliance with PROGRESS in the UK, a situation with ICW in Scotland, two very well run and respected promotions that do good business – but more importantly they are cultivating talent. They are not just exploiting talent and grabbing guys to do a show with them, they are teaching talent and trying to make them better, which is what it is all about for me. Is there opportunity for cross-promotional events? Absolutely, with the right things. It’s a blank slate and I’m open to just about anything if the right situation shows itself.”
