The WWE Bad Blood premium live event took place from Atlanta on Saturday night and several big names were in the house. Goldberg was sitting in the front row when Triple H unveiled the new Crown Jewel Championship, and he was addressed by Gunther who made his way out shortly after the belt reveal.
Gunther told Goldberg that he was lying about Goldberg being his favorite wrestler. He also took a shot at Goldberg when he said he hopes he’s a better father than he is a wrestler. Goldberg didn’t react well to that as he hopped over the barricade and tried to go after Gunther, but he was stopped by security. As the segment came to an end Goldberg looked in the camera and said “you’re next boy.”
During the WWE Bad Blood post-show press conference Triple H was asked about a potential in-ring return for Goldberg and he stated that returns become more difficult as wrestlers get older, but it’s a never say never situation.
“Atlanta loves Bill Goldberg and that’s why he was here tonight with his wife and his son. Always going to get a huge reaction enjoying the show. Things get said. I can tell you when Bill came back, he was not too happy with Gunther. We’ll see.
The further you go, time catches up with all of us, right? The further you go, those talks get further and further away from reality. I saw Bill earlier in the day and it was great. I saw Bill later in the day and there was a different look on his face with a spark in his eye. I would say never say never.”
