We’re currently on the road to WrestleMania and anything can happen. It seems that business is about to pick up in a major way as The Rock announced that he will be appearing on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Ahead of SmackDown, WWE shared a preview for the show featuring comments from Triple H where The Game points out that “Everything could change in an instant.” WWE posted the following:
The Final Boss returns to SmackDown tomorrow
“WWE today announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will appear on SmackDown – live from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans – tomorrow night at 8 ET / 7 CT on USA.
“Strap in,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “When The Final Boss shows up at this time of year, the audience knows absolutely anything is possible. Everything could change in an instant.”

The Rock’s status for WrestleMania has been a very hot topic over the last few months, so there is obviously a lot of anticipation heading into SmackDown this week. The Final Boss appeared on the Raw premiere on Netflix last month and the following episode of NXT, but gave no indication that he would be working a match at WrestleMania.
The WrestleMania card is starting to take shape over the last few weeks, so it will be interesting to see if The Final Boss gives any hints regarding his status for the event on Friday night.
