There’s no denying that 2025 was full of twists and turns for WWE fans and R-Truth’s status with the company became a very hot topic last year. At one point R-Truth posted a tweet claiming that he had been released which sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling community. Eventually R-Truth returned at Money in the Bank and it was revealed that he had signed a new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.
In a new clip from WWE Unreal season 2, Triple H talked about the situation with Truth’s contract and noted that a break down in communication led to WWE making the decision not to renew the deal.
“We got to a point in Truth’s run where his contract was coming up. When you are dealing with contracts and money and you’re very far apart in the numbers and communication breaks down, it’s very easy for both sides to read into the communications differently. ‘Okay, well, if you’re not going to come to us, then Truth, we’re going to let your contract lapse. Your contract is at the end. We’re not going to renew.’ Knowing that hopefully maybe this will force his hand to say, ‘Well, hold on a second. Can we talk?’
He immediately went out on social and said he was fired — which, he was never fired, contrary to prior belief. He was never not under contract with us.”
One way or another R-Truth will be with WWE for the foreseeable future as he revealed in a recent interview that he signed “a four-year deal with a three-year option.”
