The main event of WWE’s India live show saw Jinder Mahal vs Triple H in a match some thought was too long. In all honesty, the crowd was so pumped throughout the entire night that this match could have closed out the first half of the show with The Shield’s match going last.
But according to reports, this match had a couple surprising spots as well. Near the end of the contest, Mahal kicked out of a Pedigree from Triple H to astound the crowd. However, one Pedigree later and it was all over for The Modern Day Maharaja as Mahal lost clean in India.
After the match was over, Triple H danced in the ring with Mahal and The Singh Brothers in a rare moment of both having fun and breaking kayfabe. By the way, The Singh Brothers accompanied Jinder Mahal to the ring like last week’s episode of SmackDown Live never happened where Jinder hit them both with a Khallas seemingly ending the faction’s existence.
After Triple H had enough of dancing with Mahal and The Singhs, WWE’s COO hit one of the former Bollywood Boyz with a pedigree to the crowd’s utter enjoyment.
But the close of the show came when Jinder Mahal finally had a chance to address his people in Punjabi where he thanked WWE and Triple H. Although Mahal didn’t walk into India as a champion, his 170-day reign with the title was certainly felt and highly respected in Dehli.
Needless to say, the crowd was sent home very happy indeed and the Indian people got everything they’ve been waiting so long for. It’s just a shame WWE can’t travel to India more often. But with a new focus on the country (and their money) hopefully, WWE will make India a more frequent tour stop in the years to come.
