Ronda Rousey is one of the most talked about female stars in the wrestling world, and she’s never even wrestled a match. Even though Rousey has yet to make her professional wrestling debut, there are still plenty of people who are waiting to see her get in the ring, and USA Today recently reported that she’s very close to signing a deal with WWE.
However, during a recent podcast appearance Triple H was asked about Rousey possibly signing with WWE, and he indicated that the deal is not as close as some would think.
“It’s funny because every now and then I wake up and I look at either social media or the news and I see a report and it’s like, well, that’s news to me because I’m the one who would be having that conversation,” Levesque said during an appearance on CBS Sports’ “In This Corner Podcast.” “So it’s interesting with ‘sources say.'”
Despite the fact that Triple H is claiming the deal isn’t close to being done, he did note that the door is wide open for her to join the company.
“Everybody is very busy and I know that from Ronda’s side and her team, they are looking for an opportunity,” Levesque said. “I have made it very clear that an opportunity exists and it’s just a matter of us getting together and having conversations. I wish I had something more to tell you than that but we are just kind of talking and feeling where it goes and she is making movies and doing other things.”
Regardless of where Ronda Rousey stands with her WWE status, there’s still a few months to go before WrestleMania, and anything can happen before then.
