Last year Naomi and Sasha Banks shocked the world when they walked out of WWE, and there were a lot of questions following their departure from the company. Sasha has since resurfaced as Mercedes Mone and over the weekend Naomi made her debut with Impact Wrestling as Trinity Fatu.
Since parting ways with WWE both Trinity and Mercedes have been mostly quiet about their reasons for leaving the company, but Trinity recently explained on Busted Open Radio that she was going through a lot at the time and she wasn’t happy.
“I really was going through a lot, just felt very stagnant and I wasn’t happy. Ultimately, I left that day because of the way I was talked to and handled. Everything just kind of broke me that day. It had nothing to do with anything else, anybody else, but that was just it. I had to. And to go through the backlash, the negativity, and the lies, and the rumors, and to also just feel lost, it broke me. It was probably the lowest I ever felt in my life. But going through that, it made me reset and face it head on and figure out how to learn from this experience, grow from it, and just find myself again.”
Trinity went on to say that she’s extremely happy now and she’s thankful for the opportunity to show everyone that they haven’t seen her at her best yet. You can catch Trinity’s on screen debut with Impact Wrestling during Thursday’s episode on AXS TV. Stay tuned for updates.
