This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw featured a Drew McIntyre Appreciation Night segment, and during the segment Baron Corbin praised McIntyre.
He gave Drew McIntyre a gold medal, and told him now that Kurt Angle is gone, he’s Monday Night Raw’s gold medalist.
Drew McIntyre bragged about everything he’s accomplished since returning to the Raw roster earlier this year, and then he was interrupted by Dolph Ziggler.
Dolph Ziggler told Drew that he thought they were supposed to be a team, and then joked that his invitation to the party must have gotten lost.
That’s when Drew told Dolph that he never needed him, and that their run as a team is over.
McIntyre continued to talk trash to Ziggler, but when he told Ziggler to leave, Dolph punched Drew in the face instead.
Drew tried to fight back, but Dolph hit the Zig-Zag and left the ring, then Baron Corbin booked him in a match against McIntyre.
During the match Drew grabbed a mic and said he was going to pretend Dolph was Finn Balor, and he continued to beat Ziggler down as Finn Balor made his way down the ramp.
While the referee wasn’t looking, Finn Balor slammed Drew McIntyre into the barricade, and the ref started counting.
Drew made it back in the ring before the count of 10, but Dolph Ziggler hit a superkick to put him away and win the match.
