On Sunday night several champions defended their titles at Extreme Rules, but some of them walked out of the show empty handed.
Daniel Bryan & Erick Rowan defended the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Heavy Machinery and The New Day in a triple threat match, and when it was all said and done it was The New Day who won the titles.
After the match Bryan was interviewed, and he said that he tried to elevate the tag team division, but he failed.
Bryan then calmed down for a second and said that he doesn’t think it was him that failed, because the tag team division is un-elevatable, and they brought him down to mediocrity.
Daniel Bryan then continued and said that if he wants to change the planet he has to “aim higher” and “go where Daniel Bryan has not gone before.”
It’s interesting to note that Bryan’s partner Erick Rowan was not part of the interview.
