There’s been a lot of movement in the wrestling world this year and it’s no big secret that Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract is set to expire in 2024. McIntyre’s status has been a hot topic and it doesn’t look like he’s agreed to a new deal just yet.
Dave Meltzer recently shared an update on Drew McIntyre’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio when he noted that the former WWE Champion’s contract has been extended through April due to the time Drew missed while he was injured. It’s also being reported that Drew McIntyre hasn’t signed a new deal yet because he’s looking for a certain number which WWE hasn’t agreed to.
“I do not believe he’s re-signed. His contract was to expire at the end of the year, but because of all the injury time accrued, it’s through April.
“It’s basically a numbers game. It’s not like he’s a guy who’s looking to leave, it’s just a numbers game. He wants a certain number and they did not offer that certain number.”
At the moment Drew McIntyre is currently in one of the top spots on the Raw brand as he’s set to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Crown Jewel next month. Stay tuned for more updates on Drew McIntyre’s WWE status as they become available.
