The year is quickly coming to an end and WWE still has a few events to put on before 2022 wraps up. However, it looks like those events will be moving forward without one of the company’s top stars.

PWInsider reports that the reason why WWE made changes to the Madison Square Garden live event on 12/26 is because Drew McIntyre is not expected to be cleared for in-ring competition by the time the event takes place.

McIntyre was pulled from in-ring competition a few weeks ago due to what is being called a minor injury. The former champion will not be able to perform in the ring until he is cleared by WWE’s medical protocol.

The expectation was that Drew McIntyre would return for live events on 12/26 at Madison Square Garden and he would compete in an 8 man tag team match that would have headlined the shows. Current plans now call for the events to be headlined by The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Braun Strowman.

Drew McIntyre last competed for WWE at the live event in Portland, ME on 11/27 and as of right now he’s not planned to be part of any of the live events next week.
