They say that anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling, and it sounds like WWE originally had a very different plan for the Monday Night Raw main event this week.
PWInsider reports that originally a six pack challenge was set to main event Raw this week and the match was supposed to determine the next challenger for Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship. Sasha Banks reportedly took issue with some of the creative plans for the match and she had a meeting with Vince McMahon.
The belief is that Vince McMahon chose not to change the plans, so Sasha Banks decided to leave the Raw taping because she wouldn’t back down on her issues. Sasha’s tag team partner Naomi was also booked for the main event, but she chose to leave with The Boss.
WWE then shot new segments to set up Becky Lynch vs. Asuka as the main event. It’s worth noting that Corey Graves confirmed a six pack challenge was supposed to take place and he acknowledged that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions “unprofessionally left the arena” during the Raw broadcast. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
