You never know what’s going to happen when you watch a WWE premium live event, and earlier this month Rey Mysterio lost the United States Championship when he was defeated by Logan Paul at Crown Jewel.
Rey Mysterio addressed the loss last week on Friday Night SmackDown, but Rey’s segment quickly took a dramatic turn when Carlito questioned the loyalty of Santos Escobar. Things got heated and Escobar ended up attacking Rey Mysterio later in the show and Rey got his leg caught up in the steel ring steps.
It seems that the attack may have been WWE’s way of writing Rey Mysterio off TV as the former United States Champion recently revealed via social media that he has undergone surgery on his knee. Rey confirmed that the surgery was successful and also indicated that he’s focused on making a comeback when he posted the following:
“Knee surgery was successful @dugasmd1 Now payback on @escobarwwe is on the horizon! Pagarás por los daños #Santos”
Now that Santos Escobar has turned heel and Rey Mysterio is out of action for a while it will be interesting to see where things go for the LWO in the weeks to come. Stay tuned for updates.
