This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with an action packed match that saw Sami Zayn go one on one with Drew McIntyre. It was the Scottish Warrior who picked up the win and after the match McIntyre attacked Zayn backstage when he stomped on Sami’s knee. The backstage injury angle led to a lot of speculation regarding Sami Zayn possibly being written off TV.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that while it hasn’t been confirmed that the angle was done to write Sami Zayn off TV, Zayn did ask for time off recently. Sami’s request for time off was reportedly granted.
It’s not clear when his time off will begin, but at this point in time Sami Zayn is not currently scheduled for the 12/28 show in Laval, Quebec. It was noted that a show in that area would normally be built around Sami Zayn, so it’s possible that WWE could bring him in for the event.
Stay tuned for more updates on Sami Zayn’s status as they become available.
