Anything can happen when you watch a WWE show including injuries. As they say professional wrestling isn’t ballet which means that injuries unfortunately happen from time to time, and sometimes they happen on the road to WrestleMania.
During the March 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The Judgment Day faced off against Legado del Fantasma, and it looks like Finn Balor suffered an injury during the match. Balor recently took to Instagram to explain that he suffered a grade 2 calf tear. According to the former Universal Champion estimated recovery time for the injury is 6 to 8 weeks. However, with the help of the WWE medical team he was able to get ready for WrestleMania in 3 weeks and 2 days.
“On March 10th Ep of Smackdown I sustained a grade 2 calf tear. Normal recovery time is estimated at 6-8 weeks. Hold my beer!
With just 3 weeks & 2 days to Wrestlemania WWE medical team ‘threw the kitchen sink at it’ & with some careful planning, long days of rehab and a lot of swear words we made it back in time with a day or two spare!
My wife said it best. ‘This injury has been the Demon of your career, and you need to over come this Demon to Release YOUR DEMON at Wrestlemania’ @verolaguera
Special thanks to CJ for his incredible work ( and not taking a day off for 3 weeks)
Extra mention to @docholmes & @athleanx for all their support.”
Luckily for Finn he was able to get in the ring at WrestleMania 39 where he faced off against Edge in a Hell in a Cell match during night 2 of the big event. Balor busted out The Demon, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough as Edge picked up the win.
