Double or Nothing is one of All Elite Wrestling’s most anticipated shows of the year and some of the biggest names on the roster competed in the ring during the event. While AEW gave fans plenty to talk about with the action that played out on screen a familiar WWE star was reportedly hanging out backstage.
Fightful Select reports that former WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was backstage at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Rhea Ripley is of course engaged to AEW star Buddy Matthews. While Matthews didn’t wrestle at Double or Nothing he did make an appearance during the Adam Copeland vs. Malakai Black match.
Rhea Ripley managed to retain her WWE Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 40 back in April when she defeated Becky Lynch. Unfortunately Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate her championship due to injury a few weeks later and it’s not clear at this point in time when she will be returning.
After Rhea Ripley vacated the WWE Women’s World Championship, Becky Lynch won the belt in a battle royal, but her title reign came to an end recently when Liv Morgan defeated Lynch to win the belt at the King and Queen of the Ring event.
