The WWE King and Queen of the Ring tournament kicked off on Monday Night Raw earlier this week, but unfortunately a few names have already been removed from the tournament due to injury, and now another top star has been pulled.
Originally Bobby Lashley was set to face Tama Tonga in a first round King of the Ring match on SmackDown this week. However, Nick Aldis announced on social media that Lashley is not medically cleared to compete in the tournament because he suffered an injury while training. Aldis then announced that Angelo Dawkins will be taking Bobby Lashley’s place in the tournament and he will be facing off against Tama Tonga tonight on SmackDown.
WWE is currently advertising the following matches for SmackDown this week:
Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles – King of the Ring Tournament Match
Angelo Dawkins vs. Tama Tonga – King of the Ring Tournament Match
Bianca Belair vs. Candice LeRae – Queen of the Ring Tournament Match
Jade Cargill vs. Piper Niven – Queen of the Ring Tournament Match
Naomi vs. Nia Jax – Queen of the Ring Tournament Match
