WrestleMania weekend is finally here and although everyone is currently focused on WrestleMania 39 it’s never too early to start talking about the main event for WrestleMania 40. In recent months Gunther has become one of the stars to watch in WWE and he’s made history with his Intercontinental Championship reign.
Gunther will be defending the belt at WrestleMania 39 in a triple threat match and it looks like he has big aspirations for WrestleMania nest year. During an interview with Ariel Helwani, Gunther was asked where he would like to be on the WrestleMania 40 card and he said, “The main event. That’s the prediction.
When asked which title he would be competing for Gunther added, “That’s something we shall see. I don’t plan on losing [the WWE Intercontinental Title], and I want to make it the most important thing there is. I leave [the selection of a dream opponent] up to everybody else to make their wish.
“Obviously, in this company, there are so many great guys that I would really like to get in the ring with, but whatever the challenge is, I’m going to take it head-on and make the most out of it. So, everything will come around in the end. You get in the ring with everybody if you’re here long enough, so I take it as it comes.”
