They say that wrestling isn’t ballet as injuries do happen from time to time. Randy Orton has been off TV since May 20th and it looks like the former WWE Champion has been sidelined.
Fightful Select is reporting that Randy Orton has been dealing with a back injury for some time, and he actually had work done to improve his condition prior to the tag team title unification match. It’s being said that things have gotten progressively worse and WWE fears Orton will be forced to undergo surgery.
WWE sources have indicated that if The Viper does indeed undergo surgery then he would likely be out of action for the rest of the year. Details regarding the exact injury are unknown.
It’s also being reported that Orton is not currently being factored into any of WWE’s creative plans at the moment. It had been rumored that Randy Orton would be challenging Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, but those plans are now in question. Randy Orton’s surgery has not been confirmed, but WWE has reportedly put alternative creative plans in place.
