John Cena made a surprise appearance the Money in the Bank premium live event last month and he shocked the world when he announced that he plans to retire in 2025. Cena noted that he’s planning to work somewhere between 30 to 40 dates, so there will be limited opportunities for current WWE stars to get in the ring with the former WWE Champion.

Sami Zayn previously faced off against Cena in his first match on the main roster when he answered John Cena’s US Open Challenge back in May of 2015. During a recent appearance on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Sami Zayn talked a little but about the possibility of facing Cena again and he made it clear that it’s not an opportunity he would pass up.

“I would never avoid an opportunity to get in the ring with John Cena. That’s who you want to be in the ring with. That’s who you aspire to be in the ring with. You work your entire career in hopes of sharing the ring with John Cena.”

“You just want to perform at the highest level with the best people. When you look at the landscape … it just didn’t seem attainable 15 years ago to share a ring with John Cena.”
