WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest show of the year and WrestleMania 39 delivered its fair share of big moments. During night 1 Charlotte Flair defended the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley, and in the end it was Ripley who walked out with the gold. Charlotte hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since WrestleMania, and following the event it was reported that she would be taking time off.
Charlotte Flair recently spoke to Boardroom about the state of WWE following WrestleMania 39, and she was asked about WWE being sold to Endeavor. The Queen noted that she doesn’t think her position with WWE is going to change while explaining that she’s currently taking time off because there’s something she needs to take care of.
“When it comes to the business side, I feel as a performer, my position isn’t gonna change. Maybe if I was brand new, but my job as a performer is just to make who’s behind the headphones and gorilla happy, and then the fans. I don’t really get wrapped up in what’s happening there, but the sale is a big deal. I’ll be interested to see what happens in the future with Endeavor.
For me, I went from having never any off-days to getting injured last year after WrestleMania and being off for seven months, and then now off again for a couple weeks for something that I needed to take care of, so it’s a blessing and a curse. Like, no one wants to be injured, but having that first time off for that extended amount of time, I think was definitely healthy for my mindset.”
At this point in time it’s not clear when Charlotte Flair could return to TV, but it’s worth noting that WWE is advertising her for the SummerSlam premium live event in August.
