It’s long been rumored that John Cena would be facing off against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the match is now off the boards, as Vince McMahon has changed his mind.
The Undertaker is not scheduled to challenge for either title as of right now, and although there was a Braun Strowman tease on the most recent episode of Raw, Braun Strowman is not scheduled to be his opponent at this point.
A few key matches such as Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg, HHH vs. Seth Rollins and Big Show vs. Shaquille O’Neal are reportedly still on the card. It was also speculated that Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg could close the show.
Top stars without finalized matches right now include Roman Reigns, John Cena, AJ Styles and Finn Balor. Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens also looks likely for the event. There’s no word on plans for Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, but it’s possible that the title could end up on the line in a multi-man ladder match.
As far as the Raw Women’s Championship goes, Charlotte vs. Bayley vs. Nia Jax vs. Sasha Banks is the proposed match, but it’s not finalized.
WrestleMania 33 will air live on the WWE Network on Sunday, April 2.
