The Mae Young Classic is an event that is decades in the making. To be honest, fans have been thinking about a tournament like this for years but WWE seems to be coming around in regards to making the Women’s Revolution really something special. One person who fans were waiting anxiously to see in the tournament is Kairi Hojo.
WWE changed Hojo’s last name to Sane in their growing trend of changing just about every other indie worker’s name they sign. As excited as fans might be to see Kairi Sane’s elbow drop on WWE television, it turns out she might have already hit a snag on her road to WWE greatness.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting Kairi Sane was injured during the Mae Young Classic and suffered a concussion during the tournament. It is also reported Sane “is also dealing with some neck pain.”
This injury shouldn’t keep her out of the ring for long though as she is expected to make a full recovery in early August. Seeing how tomorrow is August 1st, then that means she won’t be missing any important matches.
We’re not saying how well Sane did in the Mae Young Classic, but supposing she made it to the finals Sane would still be good. The Mae Young Classic final is scheduled to air live from Las Vegas in September.
Concussions are a big deal and WWE doesn’t take them lightly. It isn’t the WWE we used to know during the Attitude Era with unprotected chair shots galore, that’s for sure. We hope Kairi Sane has a speedy recovery and can protect her head from this point on. We’d sure love to see what she can do against some of the other more popular women on WWE’s roster.
If you’ve never seen Kairi Sane perform then you should probably tune in the Mae Young Classic just to see her work.
