Over the last few years fans have seen quite a few Superstars part ways with WWE, and it looks like a top NXT star could be on their way out.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Io Shirai has not signed her latest WWE contract offer. If she does not sign the new deal then she will become a free agent next month.
It was also noted that the former NXT Women’s Champion told people in Japan that she wanted to return to the country when he contract expired so that she could be closer to her family.
If Io Shirai does not re-sign when her contract expires she will be free and clear to work wherever she wants. It’s being said that there’s no expectation when it comes to her possibly returning to Stardom, but legally she would be able to.
