Over the last few months fans have seen quite a few NXT stars get called up to the main roster, but it looks like one top star is going to be with NXT for a while.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Matt Riddle isn’t expected to get called up for a long time.
He also noted that original plans called for Matt Riddle to challenge Adam Cole for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Toronto, but plans changed the title match is now scheduled to be Adam Cole vs. Johnny Gargano.
Riddle was pulled from the planned title match because he’s staying in NXT and they on’t want to rush him into anything.
