A number of contracts have expired in recent months and a few months ago the Motor City Machine Guns officially became free agents. It’s been reported that Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin had talks with both AEW and WWE, but the former champions are expected to sign with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Recently Alex Shelley competed at a joint event held by DPW, West Coast Pro, and Prestige Wrestling, and he hinted that his time on the independent scene is coming to an end. After losing a match to Alpha Zo, Alex Shelley addressed the crowd. Shelley told the fans that he might not be back, but he knows that the future of wrestling is safe inside a West Coast Pro ring.
“Spoiler alert: I might not come back here. And if I don’t, I know the future of pro wrestling is safe and sound inside a West Coast Pro ring. I have talked to long and the last thing I want to say is thank you so much for the last two and a half years.”
