Top Bullet Club Members Raise Questions Of Injury Status During Strong Style Evolved

If you watched New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Strong Style Evolved then you might have noticed Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks all wore Bullet Club weightlifting belts to the ring. Cody and Matt Jackson actually wrestled in their new BC workout gear as well.

But as it turns out this attire of choice might have been more than just a fashion statement. Either BC is marketing a new product for down the line or someone could be possibly covering up for an injury.

“He may have a back injury,” Dave Meltzer said referring to Cody Rhodes on Wrestling Observer Radio. “He may have an injury or maybe they’re just trying to market weight belts? Bullet Club weight belts… which would actually make all the sense in the world since they market everything else.”

Bryan Alvarez brought up the fact that he and Meltzer didn’t check out the merchandise stand to see if they were selling weight belts since they were at the show in Long Beach. Then Meltzer brought up the fact that if NJPW was selling those at the merch tables then they would have seen people wearing Bullet Club weight belts all over the arena.

“They may be doing it with their mail order business or if Hot Topic is gonna carry weight belts. But the weight belts were all specially designed. Cody, Nick, and Matt all had weight belts that were identical.” Although Nick Jackson took his belt off to compete, those weight belts might be a catchy thing for them to market to their more physically active fanbase.

But questions have often been raised about Matt Jackson’s back as well. He’s so good at selling that sometimes he even makes the most jaded fans think he’s actually unable to work during a match. This raises even more questions of whether he’s actually hurt which is why the selling is sometimes so convincing like Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 14.

Either way, it certainly sounds like the Bullet Club could have another idea to capitalize on when it comes to merchandising another product. Pretty soon gyms all over could feature plenty of BC branding and that’s not a bad thing at all.
