This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was an action packed show and Samoa Joe put his ROH World Television Championship on the line against Keith Lee. Joe successfully defended his belt against Keith Lee, but it was what happened after the match that really surprised people.
Samoa Joe told the fans that he’s the greatest ROH World Television Champion of all time, but he doesn’t want to be just that. Joe told the fans that he’s hungry, so he’s vacating his title, and the next championship he holds will be MJF’s AEW World Championship.
At the time he vacated the belt Samoa Joe was the longest reigning ROH World Television Champion in the history of the belt. At this point in time it’s not clear what the plan is for the belt and how a new champion will be crowned now that it’s vacated.
It’s also not clear when Samoa Joe will be getting a shot at the AEW World Championship. As of right now MJF’s next title defense is set to take place at Full Gear when he defends the belt against Jay White.
