Mercedes Mone has had quite the year so far in 2023 as she made her New Japan Pro Wrestling debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January, and she recently defeated Kairi to win the IWGP Women’s Championship at Battle in the Valley. At Wrestle Kingdom Mercedes Mone crossed paths with former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, and she recently posted a video of their meeting along with the following caption:

Kenny Omega responded to the tweet and teased that he could end up teaming with Mercedes Mone for a mixed tag team match in the future.

It’s not clear at this point in time if the possible mixed tag team match will happen, but there seems to be interest from both sides. Mercedes Mone recently shared a big update on her contract status and noted that she’s currently a free agent. Ever since Mercedes Mone parted ways with WWE last year there’s been a lot of speculation about her possibly appearing in AEW, but that hasn’t happened yet, and she’s given no indication that she’ll be working with All Elite Wrestling in the future.
