Business has picked up for AEW on the road to All In and Britt Baker recently returned to kick off a feud with Mercedes Mone. Baker has been one of the top stars in the AEW women’s division for years now, but it’s now being reported that she was recently suspended.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Britt Baker was suspended for one to two weeks and fined by the disciplinary committee. Details regarding the suspension were kept quiet, but it’s being reported that it came from something that happened backstage at AEW Dynamite on 7/17.
It’s being reported that Britt Baker allegedly said something about MJF which MJF’s girlfriend Alicia Atout heard. Atout told MJF which led to MJF confronting Britt Baker. An investigation was done with HR talking to people on 7/24.
It’s not clear at this point in time if Tony Khan was involved, but everyone was attempting to keep the situation under wraps. There were problems in the past that weren’t addressed, so a committee was put together to settle issues quickly. Most people who spoke on the situation were said to have been sympathetic toward Britt Baker.
